Hi,
I’m Amanda.
I’m an author, speaker, entrepreneur and educator based in Melbourne, Australia.
My work has taken me into some seemingly very different worlds, from psychology and nervous system regulation to artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship.
But there is a common thread running through everything I do.
I’m interested in helping people adapt.
To their thoughts.
To stress.
To change.
To technology.
To opportunities they may not yet realise are available to them.
I believe that when people understand themselves better and have access to the right tools, they can change far more than they think they can.
That belief sits behind my writing, my businesses, my training programs and the work I do with individuals and organisations.
My Background
My professional background began in people-focused work.
I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Counselling Psychology, and my further training has included neuroscience and neuro-life coaching, nervous system regulation, psychosocial hazards management, EFT, TFT and other approaches focused on human behaviour, stress and emotional regulation.
Over the years, I became increasingly interested in the gap between understanding something intellectually and actually being able to change what we do when life becomes difficult.
We can know that a thought isn’t helping us.
We can know that we’re overwhelmed.
We can know we need to respond differently.
And yet our nervous system, habits and old patterns can still pull us straight back into the same response.
That curiosity eventually became a major part of my work.
Becoming an Author
I wrote Recognise. Reframe. Repeat. – 88 reframes to shift your perspective because reframing had become one of the most useful tools in my own life.
The book is built around a simple idea:
The situation may not always be within our control, but the meaning we attach to it often is.
Sometimes one different thought can interrupt an entire pattern.
The book contains 88 reframes designed to help readers look at familiar struggles from another angle, from fear, failure and comparison to relationships, self-worth, change and uncertainty.
I didn’t write it to tell people how to live their lives.
I wrote it in the hope that someone might find one page, one sentence or one reframe at exactly the moment they need it.
And if that one idea changes the way they see something, then the book has done what I hoped it would do.
My work as an author is continuing, with future books and projects exploring psychology, nervous system regulation, behaviour and the strange experience of being human.
The Regulation Collective
I founded The Regulation Collective to bring practical nervous system regulation and resilience education into workplaces, organisations and communities.
There is now far greater awareness of stress, burnout, psychosocial hazards and psychological health at work.
But awareness alone doesn’t necessarily give people the tools to respond differently.
The Regulation Collective focuses on practical education.
We explore what happens in the nervous system under stress, how regulation affects behaviour and decision-making, how people can recognise their own patterns, and what individuals and organisations can do to create healthier ways of working.
The Regulation Collective provides training for both individuals and organisations, including nervous system regulation, resilience, psychosocial hazard education and workplace wellbeing programs.
The Regulation Collective is also a CPD Approved Training Provider.
My aim is to take ideas that can sound clinical or complicated and make them useful in everyday life.
Because understanding your nervous system shouldn’t require a neuroscience degree.
The Regulation Coach
Alongside organisational training, I have also worked directly with individuals through The Regulation Coach.
This work focuses on helping people better understand patterns such as overwhelm, anxiety, emotional reactivity and self-sabotage.
My approach is non-clinical and practical.
Rather than asking only, “What’s wrong?”, I am often far more interested in questions like:
What is your nervous system trying to protect you from?
What pattern keeps repeating?
What happens immediately before it?
What could you do differently at that moment?
The goal is not perfection.
It is awareness, regulation and having more choice in how we respond.
Then AI Changed Everything
While building my work in coaching and training, I became fascinated by another enormous shift taking place around us.
Artificial intelligence.
I saw very quickly that AI wasn’t simply another piece of software.
It was going to change how businesses operate, how people work and what one individual could build without having a huge team behind them.
So I started experimenting.
Then building.
Then automating.
Then creating businesses around it.
What fascinated me most wasn’t the technology itself.
It was leverage.
A small business owner could suddenly have help with customer enquiries, administration, marketing, lead follow-up, content, research and hundreds of repetitive tasks that previously required more staff, more money or more hours.
That led to the creation of Miricall.
Miricall
Miricall helps small businesses use AI as an affordable extension of their office team.
The idea is simple.
Most small business owners don’t need more software.
They need another pair of hands.
Miricall helps businesses introduce AI assistants that can support areas such as administration, customer enquiries, inbox management, marketing, lead follow-up, content and everyday office tasks.
Instead of expecting a business owner to understand AI systems, integrations and automation, we focus on the business problem first.
Where is the work getting stuck?
What is taking too much time?
What repeatedly doesn’t get done?
Then we look at how AI can help.
My focus with Miricall is practical implementation for real small businesses, particularly businesses that don’t have large technology teams or huge budgets.
Mums X AI
One of the projects I care deeply about is Mums X AI.
After working with AI myself, I kept thinking about women who are incredibly capable but whose working lives have changed because they have children.
Many mums need flexibility.
They may want to start a small business, work from home, become a virtual assistant, freelance or simply find a way to create income that works around family life.
AI dramatically changes what one person can do.
So I created Mums X AI to teach mothers practical AI skills in an environment that actually understands that they are mothers.
The workshops are designed around real tasks, not technical theory.
Things like managing an inbox, creating content, finding leads, setting up administrative systems, automating repetitive work and using AI to build or support a small business.
And instead of expecting mums to somehow organise an entire day away from their children to attend professional development, the program is designed to be delivered in family-friendly environments.
For me, Mums X AI isn’t really about AI.
It’s about access.
Access to tools.
Access to opportunity.
Access to a different way of working.
Speaking
I also speak at business events, networking groups, organisations and community events.
My speaking work reflects the two worlds I spend most of my time in:
human regulation and technological change.
Depending on the audience, I speak about topics including:
- Nervous system regulation
- Stress and resilience
- Reframing and perspective
- Psychosocial wellbeing
- Artificial intelligence for small business
- Practical AI adoption
- Women, motherhood and AI
- Entrepreneurship
- Building businesses with AI
- Adapting to change
Although the subjects may look different, the underlying conversation is often the same.
The world changes. We change. The question is how well we learn to navigate it.
The Entrepreneur Behind the Work
I don’t think of myself as someone who chose one career and stayed neatly inside it.
I’m a builder.
When I see an idea that could solve a problem, I want to test it.
Sometimes that becomes a book.
Sometimes it becomes a workshop.
Sometimes it becomes a business.
Sometimes it becomes something completely different.
Entrepreneurship has allowed me to bring together things that traditional job titles would usually keep separate.
Psychology.
Technology.
Education.
Writing.
Human behaviour.
AI.
Business.
Motherhood.
For a long time, I thought I needed to find one neat label that explained all of it.
I’ve stopped trying.
The projects may change.
The underlying purpose doesn’t.
Understand what is changing. Make it practical. Help someone use it.
A Little More Personally
I’m also a mum of three.
And much of what I build is influenced by the realities of having a family, running businesses, trying new things and figuring life out while actually living it.
I don’t believe growth happens because we finally become perfectly organised, perfectly confident or completely fearless.
Most of the meaningful things I’ve done started before I felt completely ready.
I believe strongly in experimentation.
Try the thing.
Learn.
Change it.
Try again.
That philosophy has shaped my businesses as much as it shaped Recognise. Reframe. Repeat.
What I’m Building Now
Today my work spans four main areas.
Books and writing
Creating ideas and practical tools that help people see themselves and their lives differently.
The Regulation Collective
Training and education around nervous system regulation, resilience and psychosocial wellbeing.
AI and entrepreneurship
Helping small businesses and individuals use AI practically through Miricall and related projects.
Speaking and education
Bringing these ideas to businesses, organisations and communities through workshops, presentations and events.
Different projects.
Same underlying mission.
Helping people understand themselves, understand change and use the tools available to create something better.
